The EQ Leader: Increasing Effectiveness with Emotional Intelligence

How does emotional intelligence increase one’s effectiveness as a leader in the workplace?

Emotions and social connections are hardwired into a humans’ fundamental circuitry. They are what drives and influences a person’s behaviors and decisions. By understanding how emotions work, a leader is able to align the leadership to their colleagues’ individual working styles and expectations. In return, the leader achieves better results than he could have before, and additionally, develops positive relationships with his colleagues.

Learn the tools to improve your emotional intelligence from our coach mentor, Steven Seek, in this session. He will be sharing on the Six Second model 3-step process and the 8 competencies of an effective leader.

About the Speaker

Steven believes everyone has unique talents and potential that can be uncovered with proper guidance. Through coaching, he wants to help people produce extraordinary results in their lives, career and business, beyond their expectations.

In 2012, he started his own consultancy and coaching practices to pursue his passion. He devoted time to business and leadership coaching while staying on as a consultant to several digital and start-up companies. Steven has more than 26 years of experience in leadership, strategic and business management.

He held various senior management positions and was known for mentoring start-up companies from early stage to growth. Several of them are well known successful digital companies now.

For more than a decade as Managing Director of a leading job portal, he was able to reach out to jobseekers and employers through speaking engagements and workshops. He was also a pioneer in a career development programme with a government agency for PMEs.

Steven is an Associate Certified Coach (ACC) with ICF, Certified Professional Coach with ICA and Gallup Certified Strengths Coach. He is also an ACTA certified trainer and Six Seconds EQ Practitioner.
